Bio
Recruited from the North Ballarat Rebels with pick 13 in the 2010 Rookie Draft, Andrew Hooper was a diminutive small forward whose career was defined by an extraordinary entry into senior football. Standing at just 172cm, he was elevated to the senior list late in his first season and famously made his AFL debut in a high-stakes Semi Final against Sydney in 2010, contributing a goal in the victory. Renowned for his defensive pressure and ability to harass opposition defenders, Hooper used his low centre of gravity to contest ground balls and apply tackling pressure inside 50. Despite this memorable start, he struggled to secure a permanent place in the Bulldogs' lineup, adding only six more appearances over the following two years before being delisted at the conclusion of the 2012 season.
