Team Ratings
Every club rated on its players for 2026: the best 23 they could pick from their list, and the 23 they actually named last. The first is what they have, the second is what they put on the park, and the gap is whoever is missing. Elo sits alongside as the other reading, taken from results rather than from names.
The best 23 fills a team sheet rather than taking the top 23 by rating, so a club cannot field six ruckmen, and each position takes the type it calls for before anything else it would accept. A + marks a player on the injury list and an ✗ one who was available but not named in the last side: between them they are the gap. Unit scores count the interchange towards the line each player rotates through, at a quarter of the weight of a place in the side.
Elo answers a different question and knows nothing about who played: every result moves a club up or down by the margin, the ground and who the opponent was, so it is form and record rather than talent on a list. 1500 is the middle of the competition, and the figure under each one is how far the season so far has moved the club. A side high on one reading and low on the other is the week's argument.
