Bio
Recruited from Canberra via the GWS Academy, Jack Steele began his career on the fringes of a star-studded Giants midfield, managing limited appearances across two seasons before requesting a trade to St Kilda in search of regular senior football. The move proved instrumental, as he initially established himself as a disciplined run-with player before evolving into one of the league's elite two-way midfielders. Renowned for his contested ball-winning ability and immense tackling pressure, Steele became the heart of the Saints' engine room, earning dual All-Australian selection and back-to-back Trevor Barker Awards while serving as the club's captain during a critical transitional period.
After nine distinguished seasons at Moorabbin where he was often the barometer for his side's performance, Steele departed St Kilda to join Melbourne for the 2026 season. Now a veteran presence, he arrived at the Demons with a reputation as a fierce competitor and on-field leader, tasked with adding hardened experience and defensive accountability to his third club's midfield rotation.
