Bio
Hailing from Tumby Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, Luke Partington entered the AFL system with a resilience forged by personal tragedy, having lost his father in a mining accident shortly before being selected by West Coast in the 2015 National Draft. A prolific ball-winner at junior level, the industrious midfielder arrived at the Eagles as a ready-made prospect known for his ability to accumulate disposals and hit the scoreboard. However, breaking into a star-studded West Coast engine room featuring the likes of Matt Priddis and Sam Mitchell proved a difficult task, and he found his senior opportunities limited despite consistent dominance at WAFL level. Ultimately delisted after three seasons, Partington returned to South Australia where he emphatically validated his talent, starring for Glenelg and claiming the Magarey Medal to cement his standing as a premier state-league performer.
