Will Brodie

Originally selected by Gold Coast with pick nine in the 2016 National Draft, Will Brodie established himself as a prototypical inside midfielder known for his contested ball-winning ability and clean hands in traffic. Despite his high draft pedigree, he struggled to cement a regular spot in the Suns' engine room, managing just 25 games over five seasons before being traded to Fremantle in a deal largely motivated by Gold Coast's desire to relieve salary cap pressure. Brodie experienced an immediate resurgence at the Dockers in 2022, playing every game that season and finishing highly in the club's best and fairest count as a clearance specialist, but he fell out of favour in subsequent years as the club prioritised a different midfield mix. After adding only five senior games to his tally between 2023 and 2025, he moved to Port Adelaide ahead of the 2026 season in a bid to revitalise his AFL career.
