Bio
Drafted by Geelong with pick 36 in the 2017 National Draft, Charlie Constable arrived at the elite level as a big-bodied inside midfielder known for his clean hands and accumulation ability. Despite proving himself as a prolific ball-winner in the state leagues, he struggled to cement a permanent spot in Geelong's star-studded midfield rotation, often finding himself on the fringe due to concerns regarding his defensive transition and lack of pace. After being delisted by the Cats following the 2021 season, he was thrown a lifeline by Gold Coast, where the coaching staff attempted to reinvent him as a rebounding defender. Although Constable claimed the 2023 J.J. Liston Trophy as the VFL's best and fairest player, he was unable to translate that dominant form into regular senior selection and was delisted by the Suns at the conclusion of 2023.
