Bio
Recruited from the Giants Academy in Canberra, Josh Fahey joined Greater Western Sydney with pick 42 in the 2021 National Draft after the club matched a bid to secure the local talent. A rebounding defender with a penetrating left boot and high work rate, Fahey became known for his ability to rack up enormous possession numbers in the VFL, where he was consistently named among the competition's best performers. However, his lower-level dominance proved difficult to translate into senior opportunities, as he found himself stuck behind a backlog of elite running defenders in the Giants' lineup. Unable to cement a regular spot in the best 22, he managed just seven games across four seasons before his time at the club concluded at the end of 2025.
