Bio
Hailing from Woori Yallock, Archie Spencer progressed through the Eastern Ranges to establish himself as a standout in his draft year. Representing Vic Metro at the National Championships, the versatile prospect was named in a back pocket in the Under-18 All-Australian team. He earned the nod after shutting down dangerous forwards against Western Australia and captaining his state against Victoria Country. Spencer carried that momentum into the national draft combine, finishing fourth overall in the agility test.
Although he thrived as a rebounding defender for Vic Metro, Spencer plays primarily as a tough inside midfielder at Talent League level. He attacks ground balls with an explosive turn of speed, tackles hard and distributes the ball cleanly with slick hands. While his energy and combative nature stand out, scouts note his decision making and hurt factor by foot can sometimes be shaky. Praised for his leadership and high-intensity approach to finals football, he is widely viewed as a mid-to-late round prospect in the national draft.
