Bio
Originally from the South Clare Football Club, Jack Slattery has emerged as a draft bolter in his over-age year. Overlooked in 2025, the Woodville-West Torrens forward returned to play SANFL reserves in 2026. Given a chance with South Australia at the National Championships, the late bloomer claimed the John Halbert Medal as his state's most valuable player. Slattery kicked a carnival-leading number of goals, headlined by six against the Allies and four against Vic Country, earning selection as the All-Australian full forward. He has strong family ties, with his father Chris coaching the South Australian under-12 side and his uncle Luke playing 115 SANFL games for Port Adelaide.
Standing at 191cm, Slattery is a crafty key forward who models his game on Logan Morris and Jack Gunston. Scouts note he lacks the explosive pace or vertical leap of some prospects, but he compensates with smart lead-up marking and a natural ability to snap goals from ground level. A refined set shot routine has made him a reliable scoring avenue, helping him rise from being completely off the radar last season to a potential top-25 pick ahead of the national draft combine.
