Bio
Born in Victoria but raised in the West, Bruce Campbell established himself as a star at Subiaco before crossing the Nullarbor to join Carlton in 1911. His brief stint with the Blues was unusual—comprising two draws and a narrow loss—before he switched to Fitzroy mid-season, where he immediately impressed as a high-marking forward and topped the club's goalkicking despite playing only half the year. After returning to the WAFL to feature in two premierships, Campbell put his career on hold to serve as a Lieutenant in World War I. He made a final return to VFL football in 1920 with Melbourne at the age of 30, capping off a journeyman career defined by sharp shooting and interrupted momentum.
