Bio
Recruited from Kyabram as a talented teenage cricketer and footballer, Ross Dillon developed into a strong-marking key forward for Melbourne who could command the goal square or centre half-forward. Although his VFL career was frequently hampered by knee and Achilles setbacks, he proved a formidable offensive weapon when fit, topping the Demons' goalkicking in consecutive seasons (1969 and 1970) and earning Victorian state honours. Dillon left the club at just 25 after a job transfer took him to South Australia, where he rejected offers to return to the VFL and instead carved out a decorated legacy with Norwood in the SANFL. He became a premiership player, Best and Fairest winner, and leading goalkicker for the Redlegs, eventually representing his adopted state and later serving as a board member for the Adelaide Crows.
