Bio
Recruited from Carnegie, Gerald Burke established himself at Princes Park as a crafty rover and forward pocket who possessed a sharp eye for the big sticks. While rarely a high-possession ball-winner, his efficiency inside 50 made him a vital structural component for the Blues, most notably when he topped the club's goalkicking table in 1957 with 36 majors. A consistent contributor who averaged well over a goal a game, Burke played a key role in helping Carlton return to finals contention in the late 1950s before concluding his VFL career at the end of the 1960 season.
