Bio
A foundation player for the Blues, Wally O'Cock transitioned with Carlton from the VFA to feature in the club's inaugural VFL campaign in 1897. He immediately etched his name into history by playing in the Blues' first-ever VFL match against Fitzroy, where he was one of only two Carlton players to register a goal in the defeat. Operating primarily as a forward, O'Cock provided a steady avenue to goal during a particularly lean era for the club, which saw the team struggle near the bottom of the ladder throughout his tenure. He remained a regular fixture in the side for five seasons, retiring at the conclusion of 1901 as a pioneer of the national competition.
