Bio
Recruited from North Adelaide, Rod Jameson was a foundation member of the Adelaide Football Club, joining the inaugural squad ahead of the 1991 season. He made an immediate impression as a forward, famously kicking a goal after the siren to secure a victory against Fitzroy in his debut year. While he began his career as a goalkicker, topping the club's tally in 1991, he eventually transformed into a versatile swingman capable of playing key defensive roles. His game was characterised by strong overhead marking, a long penetrating kick, and a physical edge that occasionally drew the ire of the tribunal.
Jameson played a vital role in the Crows' breakthrough 1997 premiership, although his Grand Final appearance was tainted by a report for striking that resulted in a suspension. Injuries and form struggles limited his output in the following seasons, causing him to miss the 1998 back-to-back triumph. He retired at the end of 1999 as a one-club player and later established a successful career in football media and administration within South Australia.
