Bio
Recruited from Haileybury College and the Collegians in the VAFA, Ian Herman was a tenacious utility who carved out a niche as a tagger and on-baller. Breaking into a star-studded Carlton lineup in the late 1980s, he served as a reliable depth player during a golden era for the Blues, often tasked with defensive roles when he cracked the senior side. Seeking greater opportunity, Herman crossed to Richmond via the 1992 Mid-Season Draft, where his maturity and finals experience were valuable assets to a developing list. He played out his final years adding grit to the Tigers' midfield before continuing his career with premiership success at Sandringham in the VFA.
