Bio
Recruited from Brunswick YCW, Max Thomas was a lightly built wingman who made his VFL debut for Carlton in 1952. Standing just 174cm, he relied on his pace and running ability to break into the senior side, managing 13 appearances in a promising debut season. However, he was unable to consolidate his position in the starting lineup over the following years, drifting in and out of the team as he struggled to command a permanent spot on the wing. Thomas played his final senior game early in the 1954 season, departing Princes Park with 24 goalless games to his name.
