Bio
Recruited from the Tasmanian Devils with pick 57 in the 2008 National Draft, Aaron Cornelius was a naturally gifted forward best known for his clean hands and exceptional overhead marking. Despite possessing a reliable set shot and a healthy goal-kicking strike rate, he struggled to adapt to the modern requirement for forwards to apply high-intensity defensive pressure and build elite endurance. Consequently, he spent much of his five-year tenure at the Brisbane Lions on the fringe of selection, often dominating at NEAFL level but unable to cement a permanent senior role under coach Michael Voss. Cornelius was delisted at the end of the 2013 season and returned to his home state to continue his career as a standout player and coach in the TSL.
