Bio
Originally selected by West Coast with pick 45 in the 2002 National Draft, Aaron Edwards managed just four games in three seasons before being delisted. He revitalised his career in the VFL with the Frankston Dolphins, winning the 2006 J.J. Liston Trophy, which prompted North Melbourne to offer him a lifeline with pick 82 in that year's draft. A strong-marking lead-up forward, Edwards was renowned for his vice-like grip and elite ability to take contested marks on the lead despite being undersized for a key position player. He became a reliable avenue to goal for the Kangaroos, enjoying a career-best season in 2011, but eventually slipped down the pecking order as the club prioritised taller targets. Traded to Richmond for pick 74 ahead of the 2013 season to provide mature depth, he played sporadically for the Tigers before being delisted at the end of 2014.
