Bio
Recruited from Peel Thunder in Western Australia, Aaron Naughton was selected by the Western Bulldogs with pick nine in the 2017 National Draft. Although he entered the AFL as a promising key defender known for his intercept marking, he was permanently swung forward during his second season in a move that reshaped the Bulldogs' attack. Known for his spectacular vertical leap and ability to crash packs, Naughton quickly established himself as one of the league's most potent aerial threats, earning the moniker "AstroNaught" for his contested marking dominance.
As the focal point of the forward line, Naughton has shouldered a heavy workload, often playing through injury and drawing the opposition's best defender. While his set-shot kicking has occasionally been inconsistent, his structural importance is undeniable, with his crash-and-bash style creating opportunities for teammates at ground level. A multiple-time leading goalkicker for the club, he remains a vital pillar of the Bulldogs' spine, combining elite athletic traits with a combative approach to the contest.
