Bio
Recruited from the Northern Knights with pick 45 in the 1996 National Draft, Adam Contessa was a tenacious small utility who typified the scrap and fight of the Western Bulldogs under Terry Wallace. Standing at just 173cm, he was often tasked with defensive run-with roles or deployed as a pressure forward, enjoying his most consistent run during the club's 1998 campaign where he featured in 19 matches including two finals. Despite his high work rate and versatility, Contessa struggled to command a permanent spot in a midfield rotation boasting the likes of Scott West, Jose Romero, and Tony Liberatore, eventually finding himself on the fringes before being delisted at the conclusion of the 2001 season.
