Bio
Recruited from the Western Jets, Adam Kennedy was an inaugural Giant who carved out a reputation as one of the club's most selfless and resilient contributors. Originally overlooked in the 2010 draft before being pre-listed by GWS, he quickly established himself in the senior side as a close-checking small defender and hard-running utility. Lacking the high profile of the club's early top-tier draft picks, Kennedy endeared himself to fans and coaches through his work ethic and courage, often tasked with shutting down dangerous opposition small forwards or providing run on the wing.
His career was defined by his ability to overcome significant setbacks, including a knee reconstruction in 2017 and a shoulder reconstruction in 2021. Despite these interruptions, he fought his way back to play a key role in the Giants' maiden Grand Final appearance in 2019. A "heart and soul" figure at the club, Kennedy suffered a second ACL injury in 2023 but remained on the list to reach the 150-game milestone, earning Life Membership. He departed the Giants at the end of 2024 as a loyal one-club player who set the standard for club culture during the franchise's formative years.
