Bio
Selected with pick 11 in the 2004 National Draft, Adam Thomson arrived at Port Adelaide from Sturt with a reputation as a prolific ball-winner. A classic inside midfielder and clearance specialist, Thomson dominated at SANFL level but found it difficult to break into a Power engine room boasting established stars like Shaun Burgoyne and Kane Cornes, managing just 28 games across four seasons. Seeking greater senior opportunities, he requested a trade to Richmond ahead of the 2009 season, but the move failed to reignite his career. Thomson added only four games to his tally over two years at Punt Road before being delisted at the conclusion of the 2010 season, ultimately unable to translate his second-tier dominance into a consistent AFL career.
