Teams

Recruited from Perth in the WAFL, Adrian Barich carved out a unique path to the top level, having originally developed a background in rugby while growing up in Canberra. An inaugural squad member for the West Coast Eagles, he made history by lining up in the club's first-ever VFL match in 1987, utilising his endurance and physicality to operate effectively as a run-with midfielder and wingman. While he possessed the leadership qualities to captain Western Australia in State of Origin football, Barich struggled to secure a permanent spot as the Eagles developed into a powerhouse in the early 1990s, playing only sporadically in his final season. He retired at the conclusion of 1992, missing out on the premiership side, but remained a recognizable figure in the state through a long-standing post-playing career in television and radio.
