Teams

Recruited from Traralgon in the Latrobe Valley, Adrian Campbell was a key forward who showed early promise at Footscray before injuries derailed his career. After initially declining an invitation to train with the club to focus on a local premiership, he joined the Bulldogs and made an immediate impact, notably topping the club's goalkicking in 1989 during a lean season for the side. A strong-marking target capable of hitting the scoreboard, his progress was halted by a serious knee reconstruction sustained in a reserves final, which forced him to miss the entire 1991 season. Seeking a fresh start, he was traded to Melbourne where he managed a brief but productive cameo late in 1993, booting five goals in just two games. However, further ankle issues forced his premature retirement, though his name returned to the elite level decades later when his daughter became Melbourne's first-ever father-daughter AFLW selection.
