Bio
Recruited from Wollongong via the NSW scholarship program, Aidan Riley joined Adelaide's rookie list and quickly earned a reputation as a fierce inside midfielder with a relentless appetite for the contest. Known for his ferocious tackling and ability to win hard ball in heavy traffic, he made his debut in 2011 but saw his progress at the Crows curtailed by a broken leg suffered during the 2013 season. Following his delisting by Adelaide, he was offered a lifeline by Melbourne as a delisted free agent, where head coach Paul Roos valued his defensive pressure and extraction work around stoppages. Despite his fearless approach, Riley struggled to cement a permanent spot in the senior side and battled ongoing injury concerns, eventually concluding his 25-game career at the end of 2015.
