Stats
Bio
Recruited from Traralgon in the Latrobe Valley, Alan Anton was a country forward given an opportunity by Fitzroy during the 1955 season. Standing 180cm, he made his VFL debut as a 22-year-old and showed immediate aptitude in front of the big sticks, booting two goals across his only two senior appearances. Despite this respectable return, Anton could not consolidate his place in a Maroons side that finished ninth, and his brief foray into league football ended as quickly as it began. He remains one of the many players from the era to have a short-lived cameo at the top level before disappearing from the VFL landscape.
