Bio
Recruited from Birregurra in the Otway region, Alan Barr was a solidly built utility who added depth to the Geelong squad during the mid-1960s. Standing 178cm with a robust 85kg frame, he was a strong-bodied competitor capable of playing effectively as a medium forward or flanker. Although he found it difficult to command a regular senior spot during the Polly Farmer era, managing 22 games over three seasons, his time at Kardinia Park was highlighted by a role in the club's 1964 reserves premiership victory. After departing the Cats following the 1967 season, he later extended his football journey in the VFA with a stint at Oakleigh.
