Stats
Bio
A prolific Tasmanian spearhead, Alan Rait arrived at the Western Oval after decimating defences for North Hobart, where he had previously kicked a state-record 152 goals in a single season. He immediately validated the hype in the VFL, establishing himself as a dangerous full-forward and topping Footscray's goalkicking in his debut year, a campaign highlighted by a ten-goal haul against Carlton at Princes Park. However, Rait's time in the big league was abruptly derailed by injury early in his second season, forcing him to cross Bass Strait and return home. He resumed his career in Tasmania as a captain-coach, continuing to dominate the local competition and cementing his legacy as one of the Apple Isle's all-time greatest sharpshooters.
