Stats
Bio
Recruited from Pascoe Vale Juniors, Alan Randall was a lightweight wingman who broke into the Essendon lineup during the final years of the Second World War. Standing 175cm and weighing just 67kg, he relied on pace and evasion rather than brute strength, notably joining a distinct cluster of Bombers talent—including Harold Lambert and Jack Keddie—who had all attended Aberfeldie State School together. Randall managed six senior appearances in his debut 1944 season and added another three in 1945, showing promise in the midfield rotation. However, his time at the top level was cruelly cut short when a severe shoulder injury sustained late in the 1945 season forced him into premature retirement after just nine games.
