Stats
Bio
Recruited from Brunswick Juniors, Alby Ingleman was a talented centreman who found himself stuck behind a club legend in Carlton’s powerful 1900s lineup. With the centre position locked down by Rod McGregor, Ingleman struggled for senior opportunities, serving as a reliable depth player for the rampant Blues. His defining moment arrived in the 1907 finals series when McGregor sustained a broken nose, paving the way for Ingleman to be called up for the Grand Final against South Melbourne. He played his part in the premiership victory, earning a medallion in what was only his eighth senior game. Though he managed a career-high tally of games in the following 1908 season, he finished his VFL career shortly after, holding the unique distinction of being a premiership player in a brief 21-game career.
