Bio
Recruited from Lara, Alec Tayler was a mature-age arrival who made an exceptionally late debut for Geelong at the age of 31. He caught the eye of selectors after strong performances in the club's seconds, earning a promotion to the senior side midway through the 1923 season. Stationed as a half-forward, he retained his place for five consecutive rounds, featuring in a debut victory over Carlton. His run in the team was unfortunately curtailed by a bout of influenza, and although he continued to play in the reserves until 1925, he was unable to force his way back into the senior lineup.
