Teams

Arriving at St Kilda as a teenage debutant in 1899, Alec Wallace joined a Saints outfit that was enduring a difficult period in the VFL's formative years. He managed just two senior appearances at the Junction Oval before spending two seasons out of the league's top flight, likely plying his trade in local metropolitan football. Wallace resurfaced at the Lake Oval in 1902, granted a second chance by South Melbourne (the future Sydney Swans) to prove his worth at the highest level. Despite the change of scenery, he found it difficult to break into a competitive Bloods lineup, adding only two more games to his tally as a fringe utility before his VFL career concluded without a goal to his name.
