Bio
Recruited from the Coburg Rangers, Alec Way arrived at Princes Park with a strong family connection as the nephew of former Blue Jack Way. He quickly made an impression as a dangerous half-forward capable of hitting the scoreboard, most notably booting five goals against Geelong in his debut season. Way’s place in Carlton history was secured at just 20 years of age when he featured in the infamous 1945 "Bloodbath" Grand Final against South Melbourne, walking away as a premiership player in one of the sport's most ferocious contests. While he remained on the list until 1948, he struggled to hold a consistent spot in the senior lineup in his final years, eventually heading south to Tasmania where he carved out a solid career with City and Longford.
