Bio
Recruited from local district side Barwon, Alex Boyd was a defensive specialist who represented Geelong for three seasons at the turn of the decade. Arriving at Corio Oval in 1908, he found a niche in the Pivotonians' backline, often tasked with quelling opposition forwards while rarely venturing forward himself, evidenced by his failure to register a goal throughout his career. Boyd accumulated 30 senior appearances during a stable but unglamorous era for the club, playing his role as a consistent defender before concluding his VFL tenure at the end of the 1910 season.
