Stats
Bio
Selected with pick 48 in the 2010 National Draft, Alex Browne arrived at Essendon with a strong pedigree as the son of former Collingwood and Fitzroy player Murray Browne. A composed utility capable of playing through the midfield or across half-back, he showed early promise but struggled to command a regular position in the senior lineup due to intermittent form and fitness issues. His progress was severely derailed by a ruptured ACL sustained during the 2014 pre-season, forcing him to miss the entire year. Although he fought back to play two games in 2015, he was delisted at the conclusion of the season and was subsequently named as one of the 34 players suspended for the 2016 season due to the club's supplements saga, a ruling that effectively ended his time at the elite level.
