Teams

Recruited from East Fremantle with pick 45 in the 2010 National Draft, Alex Fasolo made an immediate impact at Collingwood as a crafty medium forward with a keen eye for goal. He quickly became a fan favourite for his confidence and finishing ability, famously playing as the substitute in the 2011 Grand Final during his debut season. Throughout his tenure at the Magpies, Fasolo was a dangerous offensive threat when fit, capable of taking strong overhead marks and converting from tight angles, eventually topping the club's goalkicking in 2016. However, his time at the club was frequently hampered by injuries and battles with consistency, which often restricted him to playing as a dedicated forward rather than pushing into the midfield.

At the conclusion of the 2018 season, Fasolo exercised his rights as an unrestricted free agent to join traditional rivals Carlton, seeking to revitalise his career at Princes Park. Intended to provide veteran leadership and goal sense to a developing forward group, his time with the Blues was unfortunately brief and limited by form and physical struggles. He managed just three senior appearances in navy blue before announcing his retirement, concluding his career as a natural goalkicker who provided a spark in the forward half for the majority of his 104 games.
