Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Port Rovers junior side, Alexander "Bubs" Kerr was a diminutive but dangerous rover who established himself as a fan favourite at the Lake Oval. His debut 1906 campaign was derailed by a serious knee injury that sidelined him for over 12 months, but he produced a stunning return late in 1907, booting four goals in a semi-final victory over Collingwood and lining up in the Grand Final defeat to Carlton. Kerr peaked two years later, playing every match of the 1909 season and providing crucial drive and goal sense for the red and white as they secured the club's historic first VFL premiership. After 74 games and 57 goals for South, he left the VFL in 1912 to continue his career with Prahran.
