Bio
Recruited to Richmond during the club's challenging second season in the VFL, Alex Murray was a light-framed player who joined the Tigers as they attempted to stabilise their list following their promotion from the VFA. He made his debut in Round 5, 1909 against St Kilda, entering a lineup that was frequently rotating personnel in search of a competitive edge. Murray managed four senior appearances scattered across the winter, booting his solitary career goal but finding it difficult to hold his place in the side. His brief tenure at the top level concluded at the end of the 1909 season, marking him as a rotational player during the club's difficult foundational years in the major league.
