Alexander Panteleon Salvado was a journeyman follower and forward whose VFL career was defined by a lengthy interlude involving Association football and service in the First World War. Emerging from the Richmond Juniors, he made a statistically notable start to his senior career in 1912, booting two goals in his solitary game for the Tigers before departing the club. Following a move to Brighton and a brief, non-playing stint on Collingwood's list, Salvado’s football ambitions were paused by his enlistment for military service in 1916. He eventually resurfaced in the VFA with Northcote and Hawthorn before Melbourne offered him a second chance at the elite level in 1919. Utilised primarily as a half-forward during his time with the Redlegs, he added five games to his tally before concluding his playing days in the outer eastern suburbs with Ferntree Gully and Belgrave.
