Bio
Alex Stewart was recruited from Mordialloc, joining a Hawthorn side that was struggling to find its footing in the VFL during the early 1930s. He made his debut in the 1931 season, managing to break into the senior lineup for nine appearances and kicking a solitary goal. Playing for the "Mayblooms" during a tough era where wins were scarce, Stewart's tenure at the top level was brief, lasting just the single season before he departed the VFL scene. His career stands as a representation of the high player turnover experienced by the club as it sought to establish a competitive list during the Great Depression.
