Bio
A local recruit from Springvale YCW, Alf Beus was a tall utility who joined South Melbourne in the mid-1970s. Standing at 191cm, he provided "tall timber" options for the Swans, capable of slotting into a key defensive post or pinch-hitting in the ruck. Despite his size, he found it difficult to break into the senior side permanently, managing just a handful of games across two seasons without registering a goal. Unable to secure a long-term future at the Lakeside Oval, he eventually departed the VFL and continued his football journey in the VFA with Sandringham.
