Bio
Recruited from Hawthorn Juniors, Alf Pitman made his brief mark at VFL level with South Melbourne during the 1905 season. The Yarrawonga-born forward stood 173cm and broke into the senior lineup to play seven matches, managing to hit the scoreboard with three goals during his short tenure at the Lake Oval. While he was unable to cement a long-term spot in the side, Pitman remained an active part of the playing group's mid-season travels, featuring in exhibition matches against local representative teams in Albury and Sydney.
