Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Fitzroy Juniors, Alf Sharp was a defensive specialist who experienced a baptism of fire at the elite level, appearing in the 1903 Grand Final in just his fifth league game. He cemented his place in the Maroons' backline the following season, occupying a back pocket role during the club’s 1904 premiership triumph over Carlton. Sharp crossed to the Blues in 1905 but managed only a handful of senior appearances before his VFL career concluded with just 24 games to his name. Despite his brief tenure, his connection to Brunswick Street endured through his son, Mickey Sharp, who became a notable rover for Fitzroy in the 1930s.
