Stats
Bio
Recruited from South Adelaide, Alf Swift was a South Australian import who crossed the border to test himself in the VFL with Essendon during the 1904 season. Functioning primarily as a forward option capable of rotating through the ground, he broke into the senior lineup early in the year and managed to boot two goals across his seven matches at the top level. Despite the initial opportunity, Swift struggled to command a regular place in a competitive Bombers outfit that was pushing for finals, eventually losing his spot in the side midway through the year. His time in Victoria proved fleeting, with his VFL career consisting solely of that single winter campaign before he moved on from the club.
