Stats
Bio
Recruited from Morwell in the Gippsland region, Alf Vary arrived at St Kilda as a teenage forward during the 1927 season. He joined a Saints lineup that was struggling for consistency, eventually finishing second-last on the ladder, but he managed to make an immediate, albeit brief, impact by booting two goals in his three senior appearances. Standing 177cm, he offered a target inside 50 but could not cement a long-term spot in the side. His tenure at the Junction Oval was ultimately short-lived, with his VFL career restricted to a single season before he departed the top level.
