Bio
Born in Mount Gambier, Algy Millhouse established himself as one of South Australia's premier rovers at Norwood before his employment took him to Victoria in 1913. Heavily pursued by multiple VFL clubs upon arrival, he initially joined Melbourne but crossed to St Kilda midway through the season in a move that immediately transformed the side. A complete footballer noted for his elite stab passing, long kicking, and unselfish decision-making, Millhouse became a driving force in the Saints’ surge to their first-ever Grand Final. He kicked a goal in the historic 1913 decider against Fitzroy, but the loss marked the end of his brief VFL tenure. Millhouse returned to South Australia to captain-coach Norwood in 1914 before his playing days were prematurely ended by service in World War I.
