Bio
Recruited from East Brighton, Allan McDonald was a diminutive wingman who broke into the St Kilda lineup as a teenager during one of the club's strongest eras. He made his senior debut in 1965, a season where the Saints dominated the competition to claim the minor premiership and reach the Grand Final. Standing just 173cm, McDonald managed two appearances at the top level, but found it impossible to retain his spot in a star-studded midfield that featured future legends of the game. His brief VFL career concluded at the end of that season, a victim of the incredible depth in a St Kilda squad that was on the verge of its golden age.
