Stats
Bio
Recruited from Glen Waverley via Wesley College, Allan McKellar served a traditional apprenticeship through the Richmond grades, winning an Under-19s Best and Fairest and a premiership before graduating to the senior list. Though often utilized as a depth utility, McKellar delivered a career-best campaign in 1989 as a high-possession midfielder, finishing third in the club champion award and leading the Tigers' Brownlow Medal count with 10 votes. Unable to sustain that momentum at Punt Road, he was thrown a lifeline by Footscray in the 1991 Pre-Season Draft but failed to crack the senior side, spending the year in the reserves. A final move to Sydney in 1992 offered a fresh start, but a significant shoulder injury restricted him to just two games, ending his time at the elite level as a journeyman who briefly shone brightly in a struggling Tigers outfit.
