Bio
A product of the Mentone Football Club, Allan Mennie arrived at St Kilda after starring in three consecutive premierships for Mentone's thirds. He made his senior debut in Round 5, 1955, joining a struggling Saints lineup that would ultimately claim the wooden spoon that season. Standing 175cm, Mennie was a skilful and clever wingman who played seven games in his debut year but added just one more in 1956 before departing the VFL. Following a stint with Moorabbin in the VFA, he returned to Mentone to become a local football figurehead, winning a senior best and fairest in 1960 and later coaching the club's under-19s to back-to-back flags.
