Bio
A product of Prahran in the VFA, Allan Thompson was a tall forward who arrived at Fitzroy midway through the 1934 season. Although Melbourne had shown strong interest in the 183cm prospect, the Demons cleared him to Brunswick Street in a goodwill move that guaranteed him immediate senior selection. He wasted no time making an impact, utilising his key-position size to become a regular avenue to goal for the Maroons. Thompson played consistent football over three years, finishing with the perfectly balanced record of 23 goals from 23 games, before departing the VFL at the end of 1936 to return to the Association.
